How to help test Theory Toolkit
The current Explorers have completed initial functional testing, but they are not the finished Theory Toolkit interface. Please test both how they work and whether the presentation helps you understand what you are seeing.
Please explore rather than following a strict test script. Change selections, try combinations, and see whether each page behaves the way you expect it to.
The feedback I am most interested in is:
- What worked? What felt clear, useful, or intuitive?
- What did not? Did anything behave incorrectly, confusingly, or awkwardly?
- What did you expect? If something surprised you, what did you think would happen instead?
- What would you like to see added? Is there a control, comparison, view, or piece of information that would make this more useful?
You do not need to be a music-theory expert to give useful feedback. If something does not make sense, that itself is useful information. Instructors and experienced players are also encouraged to identify anything musically misleading or anything they would present differently to a student.
Theory Toolkit is a teaching supplement. It does not replace an instructor or independently teach music theory.
